2005 / installation / borrowed taxidermy animal trophies

Fourteen taxidermy animal trophies were borrowed from the Europe's largest hunting museum in Munich, Germany. In collaboration with a German hunter, each head was rehung in an art museum at the actual height the animals would have stood, rather than the elevated heights the trophies are usually hung at.

The heads, almost all now hung below human head height, created a humble, reproachful corridor through which visitors to the group exhibition had to pass to see the rest of the show Jagdsalon (Hunter's Salon).

Exhibited in Jagdsalon at Kunsthaus Ettlingen (2005) and Kunstraum Kreuzberg, Germany (2006), curated by Christine Heidemann.
