All Scissors in the House Made Safer
2014 / scissors, wool roving / dimensions variable
All the scissors in a single home made safe and unusable by a process of wet-felting. The application of raw wool, hot water, soap and hours of handling cause the scissors to become enclosed in a tight woollen skin. When held they are soft and heavy.
Made during An Artist Residency in Motherhood. Currently exhibited in Complicated Labors at University of California Santa Cruz, curated by Irene Lusztig & Natalie Loveless. February 5th - March 15th 2014.
